Construction has begun on The Smith, a new multi-family residential development located in Boston’s South End. The project is being developed by Leggat McCall Properties and Bentall Kennedy, who are also working with development advisor Bozzuto, and designed by CBT Architects with landscape architecture by Halvorson Design Partnership.

This multi-family residential development, designed by Prellwitz Chilinski with landscape by Halvorson Design, creates an activated public realm, featuring tree-lined sidewalks, pedestrian promenades, a public plaza, village green, private shared street, and a pocket park.

Plans include a public park centrally located in the 170-acre parcel as well as an outdoor area to hosts shows, festivals, and musical performances.
