Amanda Grosvenor of the Providence Monthly highlights a few projects that have contributed to the fast-paced transformation of Providence's Jewelry District, including the South Street Landing development by CV Properties and Wexford Science & Technology. Halvorson Design is serving as landscape architect for this significant, multi-phased redevelopment project along the Providence River, working in collaboration with master planning architect Spagnolo Gisness & Associates (SGA) and Tsoi/Kobus & Associates to create a vibrant neighborhood to live, learn, work and play.

South Street Landing, the successful adaptive reuse of the South Street power station to house administrative offices for Brown University and a nursing education center for Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island, was designed Tsoi/Kobus & Associates and includes open spaces and streetscapes designed by Halvorson Design. In addition, Halvorson Design is collaborating with SGA on the new River House Student Housing, which features creative on-site stormwater measures, a shared pedestrian/vehicular street, and courtyard for the students.
