LeBauer Park Master Plan
Master Plan | Greensboro, North Carolina
Carolyn LeBauer left her estate to the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro for a new public park. In collaboration with Katalyst Inc. and Biederman Redevelopment Ventures, Halvorson participated in the development of a master plan for the Carolyn and Maurice LeBauer City Park.
The process involved extensive outreach to key stakeholders, which led to the development of a strategy to use the park’s programming to drive the design and by providing a wide range of flexible spaces for diverse programs, activities, and attractions seasonally and throughout the year. The park’s programming creates a framework for revenue generation that provides for long-term maintenance and sustainability and establishes a new “cultural campus” downtown.
