University Park @ MIT

Campus Open Space | Cambridge, Massachusetts

University Park is an award-winning urban redevelopment area in the historic heart of industrial Cambridgeport, adjacent to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Halvorson was retained by Forest City Development to design a comprehensive treatment for open spaces, streets, pedestrian areas and building entrances throughout the new development.

Defined by colorful planting, shade trees, benches and open lawn areas, the design of the landscape includes places of gathering and quiet solitude for the benefit of the community.
