Washington Village

Mixed-use Residential Village | South Boston, Massachusetts

The Washington Village mixed use project is led by DJ Properties and Prellwitz Chilinski Associates. This ambitious development seeks to add 894,600 square-feet of mixed use space and 656 mixed income residences across 4.89 acres near the Andrew Square Station in South Boston.

Nearly half of the project site (2.4 acres) is dedicated to the public realm. Halvorson Design is responsible for the vision and implementation of lively public areas which include: walkable streets with tree-lined sidewalks, pedestrian promenades, a public plaza, a village green, a private shared street and a neighborhood scale pocket park.

The vision for the public areas is to provide a place for the local community to meet, play, dine, socialize and be entertained. Programmed activities such as farmer’s markets, food trucks, festivals, outdoor movies, and music performances will help to ensure that the public realm is activated and accessible to a wide demographic.
