University Park is a major urban redevelopment area adjacent to MIT in the historic heart of industrial Cambridgeport.
Halvorson Design Partnership has provided Forest City Development with a comprehensive landscape master plan for streets and pedestrian areas throughout the project site. Over more than a decade the firm designed all of the major open spaces in the precinct, as well as building entrances and street and sidewalk improvements in collaboration with various project architects.
The award-winning University Park Common serves as a "campus green" and incorporates art works commemorating the industrial and natural history of Cambridgeport.
For 23 and 91 Sidney Street, new buildings containing residential units, Halvorson Design Partnership designed contemporary entrances and streetscapes to compliment the architecture.
Landsdowne Quadrangle is an attractive pedestrian oasis centered around an audacious granite, bronze and plant material sculpture garden designed in collaboration with artist David Phillips.
