The new Hancock Adams Common, designed by Halvorson Design Partnership for the City of Quincy, opened this month with a celebration that featured speeches by Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch, Governor Charlie Baker, Pulitzer prize-winning historian David McCullough, and Congressman Stephen Lynch.

The City of Quincy is preparing to unveil the new Hancock Adams Common in the heart of its downtown. Halvorson Design led a multi-disciplinary team to design this activated park and streetscape, which premiers September 8th.

Halvorson Design is thrilled to announce that Ricardo Austrich has been elected President of the Boston Society of Landscape Architects.

In an opinion piece written for Seacoast Online by John Tabor, he recommends that the City of Portsmouth should invest in open spaces. This recommendation is the result of a planning study by architect Touloukian Touloukian and Halvorson Design for the Vaughan Mall and Bridge Street/Worth lots in downtown Portsmouth.

Selectmen met with representatives from traffic engineering firm Howard Stein Hudson and landscape architects Halvorson Design, who are developing the landscape plan for the East Milton Square deck.

The Eagle Tribune reports that Tuscan Brands CEO Joe Faro shared updated plans for Tuscan Village, a large-scale mixed-use development in Salem, New Hampshire. Plans include a public park centrally located in the 170-acre parcel as well as an outdoor area to hosts shows, festivals, and musical performances.
