The Toronto Music Garden was envisioned by world renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma to express physically the structure and beauty of Johann Sebastian Bach's
1st Suite for Unaccompanied Cello. Halvorson Design joined garden designer Julie Moir Messervy to help transform this vision into a spectacular public space.
Located at the edge of Lake Ontario, the garden is the centerpiece of Toronto's "Harbourfront" parkland project. Its six distinct areas are inspired by and reflect the six movements of Bach's suite.
