Historic Gore Place includes the 45-acre grounds and mansion built in 1806 by Christopher and Rebecca Gore. The mansion currently serves as a museum telling the story of this classic Federal Era country estate.
The Gores developed and maintained the property as a farm and pleasure ground. Halvorson Design prepared an historic landscape master plan to restore, preserve and interpret the elements of the Gore landscape and provide amenities to accommodate modern day uses.
At the firm's recommendation, Gore Place Society has undertaken an on-going program of landscape archeology led by Dr. Leith Smith of the Fiske Center at UMass Boston.
