Congress Square

Mixed Use | Boston, Massachusetts

Congress Square is a multi-faceted adaptive reuse of five iconic buildings with an activated central alley. The development brings a bold new vision to Boston’s downtown district, just one block from the historic Old State House.

Halvorson Design, in collaboration with Arrowstreet Architects and developer Related Beal, is transforming Quaker Lane, a previously underutilized service alley into a shared, fully-accessible pedestrian street.  Overhead catenary lighting and site amenities will establish a 24-hour outdoor presence that forms an interconnected link between the buildings, inviting both visitors and tenants to linger and enjoy this civic amenity.
