Halvorson Design has provided Williams College with planning, design and implementation services for a wide range of renewal and expansion projects throughout the campus.
In addition to many smaller projects, the firm has renovated the Chapin Hall and Hopkins Hall quadrangles, developed a master plan for campus circulation and parking, prepared a prioritized landscape capital budget, and designed an extensive outdoor play landscape for the new Williams College children's daycare center.
Our most recent project, the '62 Center for Theater and Dance, is a vibrant addition to the college's academic arts program and to the cultural life of the entire Berkshire region. Working in collaboration with William Rawn Associates, Halvorson Design created a simple and crisp site design, which extends the pastoral character of the campus to the new building and associated parking facility, and artfully solves a complex pedestrian and vehicular access challenge.
